Reaching out to fans for financial help, Zach Braff launched his own Kickstarter Campaign on Wednesday (April 24).
The 38-year-old actor released a video explaining his hopes to create and star in a brand new indie film, similar to his successful hit “Garden State.”
"After I saw the incredible way Veronica Mars fans rallied around Kristen Bell and her show's creator Rob Thomas, I couldn't help but think maybe there is a new way to finance smaller, personal films that didn't involve signing away all your artistic control," Braff said in the clip.
His film “Wish I Was Here” was written by Zach and his brother Adam and it follows a man struggling to find success in the entertainment business.
The “Oz” star explained that it’s a thematic sequel to his 2004 film.
Through the Kickstarter program, the Zach hopes to earn $2 million to create the film. Just moments ago, he tweeted, “OMG! Best fans ever! About to hit 300k!”
