"X Factor" U.S. Releases First Promo: Watch Now!
Hoping to find as much success in the States as is the case in the UK, "The X Factor" has offered up it's very first promo for the show's U.S. version.
The clip debuted on Tuesday night (July 12) during the MLB All-Star game on FOX, with Simon Cowell poking fun at himself as he doles out compliments and even offers a standing ovation after a contestant's rendition of "Tomorrow" from Annie.
Cowell can be heard saying in a voice-over, "Let's face it a years a long time, and we all change our attitudes. This is a different decade. It's not about me anymore; it's about them."
Talking about shooting the spot, fellow judge Paula Abdul said, “Simon says that I inspired him for the whole idea. I don’t know what that means. I don’t know if it is a compliment or an insult. It’s probably an insult, but it was funny. Having Simon high-five me and watching Simon giving a standing ovation to a young girl singing ‘Tomorrow’ from ‘Annie’…we had to hold it in. We were laughing very hard.”
With the program also featuring Nicole Scherzinger and Antonio "L.A." Reid, "The X Factor" makes its U.S. debut on Wednesday, September 21st on FOX.
