Tom Cruise's 50th Birthday Without Katie & Suri

After allegedly getting blindsided with the news of his divorce, Tom Cruise spent his 50th birthday on Tuesday (July 3) without his ex-wife and daughter.

According to a recent report by People magazine, the "Top Gun" actor left Iceland where he is currently shooting his film "Oblivion" and headed back to California early yesterday morning to have a low key celebration with his teenage children Bella and Connor along with his extended family.

Sources who are close to the Hollywood icon told the mag that these were not Tom's original plans adding, "He was going to spend his birthday with Katie and Suri [in New York City], then they were going to fly to California where he is going to finish [filming] 'Oblivion' and spend time there."

However after the shocking announcement last week that Katie Holmes had filed for divorce, the 50-year-old actor switched up his plans and spent time at his Beverly Hills home away from the media and chaos.

Meanwhile in New York City, Katie Holmes and Suri were spotted grabbing ice cream with smiles on their faces at a West Village parlor.
