Fans of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic "The Great Gatsby" will have to wait a little longer to see the new film adaptation come to light. Warner Brothers announced today that the movie will be pushed from the original Christmas 2012 release date to summer of 2013.

Despite the delay, the production company assures fans of the roaring twenties novel that it will be worth the wait. "Based on what we've seen, [director] Baz Luhrmann's incredible work is all we anticipated and so much more," Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros. said in a statement. "It truly brings Fitzgerald's American classic to life in a completely immersive, visually stunning and exciting way."
