Teri Hatcher Swims for Charity at Malibu Triathlon

Showing off her athletic prowess, Teri Hatcher competed in the Malibu Triathlon being held on the beaches of Malibu, California on Sunday morning (September 12).

With money being raised for the Children's Hospital, the "Desperate Housewives" beauty strapped on a wetsuit as she swam the Pacific waters for Team Disney.

Making for quite the proper cause, Teri took to her Facebook page the previous day to share about her ambitions of raising $20,000 for the charity and a patient named Sophia, in particular.

Miss Hatcher wrote, "I received a letter today from the father of a young patient at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I will be swimming in the Malibu Triathlon this sunday. It's not too late to donate. So after checking the water forecast, I now know that when I dive into the 60 degree shoreline at 7am for a purely adrenaline based swim, they'll be one beautiful girl to reach stroke after stroke for, And that's Sophia. I so want to reach that 20 thousand dollar goal. Bless you."

Following her triathlon efforts, the 45-year-old actress told Radar Online, "Even though the water was cold, nothing can compare to what little Sophia is going through. I came out here today to help bring awareness of this disease. Events like this are one of many ways celebrities can bring awareness for different causes. Anything I can do to help, count me in."
