Taylor Kitsch Channels James Dean for GQ
In an ode to James Dean's Marfa, Texas shot classic film "Giant," Taylor Kitsch paid a visit to the small Lone Star State town to put together a feature for the March 2012 issue of GQ.
The 30-year-old Canadian actor donned a Ralph Lauren Black Label vest, shirt and jeans with a Stetson hat and boots by Melet Mercantile for the cowboy themed shoot as part of his "John Carter" promotional efforts.
Meanwhile, highlights from Mr Kitsch's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to GQ!
On working again with Friday Night Lights creator Peter Berg, who also directed Kitsch in Battleship:
“On FNL, Peter taught us: Challenge the director, challenge the writers. Stand your ground. For Battleship, he had this moment of ‘I almost regret teaching you that. Just do it, will you?’”
On his passion for the Lone Star State:
“Texas forever. It looks like it’s going to be that way, too.”
On taking a giant leap from ensemble parts (Friday Night Lights) to leading-man roles in two huge (as in budgeted over $200 million) films (March’s sci-fi Western John Carter and May’s big-things-blowing-up blockbuster Battleship):
“This year is really make-or-break.”
