The 6th annual Tribeca Film Festival opened up on Wednesday evening with a gala hosted by former Vice President Al Gore, along with showings of nine SOS shorts. The festival has attempted to expand its social mission with a line-up consisting of numerous global warming-themed films.

According to mLive reports, "The festival, which was founded after the Sept. 11 attacks to rejuvenate Lower Manhattan, opened with the premiere of nine short films produced by SOS (Save Our Selves), an organization to raise awareness on climate change."

Nicole Kidman has turned the tables on the pesky paparazzi who tend to lurk around her spread in the Outback. Worried for her own safety, a specialist surveillance team in an unmarked van has been planted outside her Sydney mansion, providing her with 24 hour surveillance.

According to Sky news, "In an effort to protect their leading lady, Fox Studios has ordered the security guards to gather evidence of the paparazzi's "stalking-like" behavior, including taking photographs of individuals and obtaining voice recordings."

Rachel Bilson was spotted taking her pet pooch Thurmen Murmen to rendezvous with her gal pal and a mystery man for lunch at the Mustard Seed Cafe in LA on Thursday. Bilson was sporting a hoodie by H&M, red quilted handbag by Chanel and sunglasses by Chloe.

The Mean Girls star spent a month in Wonderland, an addiction treatment facility up in Laurel Canyon. Her adventures in Wonderland had a positive effect, she says, adding that she stayed at the West Hollywood rehab center earlier this year because she "felt safe" there.
