Sofia Vergara Covers Redbook September 2011
Just in time for the fall television season to get underway, Sofia Vergara is featured on the cover of Redbook magazine’s September 2011 issue.
The “Modern Family” babe looks gorgeous in a shimmery blue tank top teamed with a pair of slim fit dark wash jeans as she smiles for the camera.
In her interview, Sofia shares her experience as a young mother. “When I had Manolo, I was 19, and I had the energy for everything. My boyfriend now wants to have kids, and I don’t even want to think about it. I would have to get into that mind-set again, the waking up early.”
As for her teenage body image, Sofia explained, “The thing is, I’ve had these ridiculously huge boobs since I was super young. Like, 13. I was really skinny at that time, so it was weird to have those f---ing boobs and be skinny. It was hideous. Then after I had my kid, I got hips and everything started to come together”
Ms. Vergara also noted that she really relates to her television character. “I think I’m the most similar. I’m Latin, I have an accent, I have a kid from a previous marriage, and I’m Columbian. Julie is a lot like Claire; she’s very into doing things perfectly. She’s neurotic, in a good way. I think she and I get along so well because we’re very different. They don’t have to alter anything she puts on because she’s superfit. Everything I try on is hours of alterations. There’s no competition of any kind, which is what happens sometimes with women. Rico [Rodriguez], who plays my son, says he’s not at all like Manny, but we all think he is; he’s an old soul. Eric [Stonestreet] plays a gay guy and he’s not gay, so that’s the most different. But the rest of us, we’re very similar. Ty [Burrell] is exactly Phil.”
