Branching out from her previous roles, Selena Gomez dished about her very "real" and "raw" recent role in "Spring Breakers".
The former Disney channel cutie sat down with MTV News, explaining that her newest flick is not what fans are used to from her, saying, "It's really fun. It's completely different than anything I've done before, people are going to be a little surprised."
Gomez explains the film by saying, "it's such a good movie. It's real. It's raw. It's about actual spring break and it's just, they kind of take it to a whole other level."
The Harmony Korine directed comedy follows four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation. After being bailed out by a drug and arms dealer ( James Franco), they find themselves helping him with some dirty work.
The brunette singer/actress dished that getting the opportunity to work with Korine really boosted her acting to another level, explaining, "It's great. The freedom we had, I mean Harmony, the director, was so flexible with us. He just really allowed us to push ourselves, which was nice. He never said we did anything wrong. He just said it was a choice. He gave us these locations and just said, 'Act like you're on spring break.' "
"Spring Breakers," which also stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson, is set to hit theaters in 2013, but you can catch the entire interview with Selena below!
