Sacha Baron Cohen Brings "The Dictator" to the “Today” Show

He’s always a loose cannon, and Sasha Baron Cohen was spotted at the NBC Studios in New York City today (May 7) to promote his new movie “The Dictator.”

The “Borat” actor showed up in character as General Aladeen for his interview with Matt Lauer on the “Today” show.

As for his rise to power, Cohen explained, “I ascended in tragedy, actually. My mother died in childbirth from strangulation. And my father also died from natural causes- he was allergic to bullets and he was grenade intolerant. And my uncle is going to die in a tragic helicopter crash at about 3:00 this afternoon.”

Sacha also discussed the Ryan Seacrest/ash-dumping incident at the Oscars earlier this year. “It was not Kim Jong-Il’s ashes. Let me explain what happened. Kim Jong-Il’s son is very fat. In fact he looks so fat, as if he ate his father, which is what he actually did. So, Kim Jong-Il became Kim Jong-Dead, and then his fat son ate him and then he became Kim Jong-Yum, and then twenty-four hours after that he became Kim Jong-Dung. It was a smooth transition of power.”
