Learning his sentence stemming from a scuffle with a shutterbug, Russell Brand has reportedly cut a deal with prosecutors that will keep him out of the slammer.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Brand was charged with misdemeanor criminal damage for taking a paparazzo's cell phone and throwing it through the window of a nearby law office in March.
According to TMZ, while the Katy Perry ex plead not guilty via his attorney earlier this morning (July 26), both sides were able to strike an agreement in which Russell's case will be dismissed.
As for the deal, the actor will go free if he pays $500 in court fees and participates in 20 hours of community service by the end of August. Not a bad trade-off, as Brand was previously facing up to six months behind bars.
