Thanks to advertisers continuously looking for new methods of attracting viewers, Kristen Dunst, Kate Hudson and Rita Wilson will make their directorial debuts.
In this past January’s edition of “Glamour” magazine, readers were asked to submit real life stories that left other readers with a positive feeling. Dunst, Hudson, and Wilson selected the winners of the contest, and will turn their stories into short films. The total budget that “Glamour” is coughing up for the promotion is $500,000.
Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning will star in Hudson's film, while Aisha Tyler and Jeanne Tripplehorn will star in Wilson's. With Rihanna shooting for Cover Girl and Jennifer Aniston shooting short films for a Japanese company, it's becoming increasingly regular to see Hollywood superstars in commercials.
The winner of the third annual Reel Moments competition will not be announced until October 9, at the Los Angeles premiere of the three films.
Past participants in the Reel Moments venue include Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
