Ricky Gervais
They say bad press is better than no press at all, and that's proving to be correct for under-the-gun comedian Ricky Gervais.
While the British comic may have insulted just about everyone at this year’s Golden Globes, it has just been announced that he'll soon be appearing on NBC’s hit show “The Office.”
His Golden Globes hosting gig is certainly one of the most talked about things in Hollywood this week, but Ricky Gervais doesn’t feel he did anything wrong.
The British actor addressed the situation on his blog earlier today (January 19), writing, “Thanks to the twitterverse, the blogosphere, all the journos and the coolest stars for coming to my rescue. It was heartwarming to realise [sic] I wasn't losing my mind. Some reactions nearly had me believing I'd gone too far too. Nearly. “
Braving the nasty weather, Ricky Gervais was spotted out and about in New York City earlier today (January 18).
The “Invention of Lying” funnyman was joined by his wife Jane Fallon as he encountered photographers on the streets of Manhattan.
Not getting the response in which he hoped for, Ricky Gervais has spoken out regarding rumors that he was sidelined at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards due to his over-the-line comments during the early part of the ceremony.
In a statement released Monday (January 17), the British funnyman said, "Everyone took it well and the atmosphere backstage and at the after show was great."
It’s no secret that he stepped on plenty of toes at last night’s 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and Ricky Gervais isn’t looking to make a third appearance as host.
The crass British comedian, who hosted last year’s awards as well, was booed by the audience multiple times and took cheap shots at pretty much everyone he introduced.
Last year he was a huge hit as host of the Golden Globe Awards, but Ricky Gervais may have gone too far this time around.
The outspoken British actor/comedian laid into everyone at the event, including big names like Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Bruce Willis.
He definitely pushed the envelope while hosting the 2010 Golden Globe Awards, and Ricky Gervais is back for another round of raunchy humor.
The foul-mouthed Brit told Ellen DeGeneres that he’s already made plans to lay into a few select celebrities at Sunday’s festivities.
