Regis Philbin: Coming to “Rachael Ray”

He’s made the most of an extended break from television duties, but Regis Philbin is ready to get back in front of the camera with his new gig on “Rachel Ray.”

The former “Live with Regis and Kelly” star told press he’ll be the show’s co-host once a month beginning this Monday (September 24th) and he’s excited about the new project.

Philbin explained, "I tried to make a distinct point that I wasn't retiring, that I was moving on. Everybody said 'retired!’ I feel terrific! I've enjoyed my time."

“I'm not working that much, but I'm out there,” he noted, adding that Rachel Ray’s offer to guest host once a month was a welcome call. “I'm not gonna say I don't want to do your show! I think it's fun. I spent my whole life doing this."
