Randy Quaid: I Owe My Well-Being to Canada
Giving thanks for its refugee system, Randy Quaid is now claiming if it weren’t for Canada, he and his wife would be dead.
On Tuesday morning (November 23), the Cousin Eddie actor made that claim as he entered his immigration and refugee board hearing in Vancouver - where he and wife Evi were picked up last month for an outstanding US warrant.
The pair quickly claimed refugee status and their hearings have been conducted amongst their odd claims of being hunted by what they call "Hollywood star whackers."
The Quaids say many of their friends have died under mysterious circumstances and believe they could be next on the hit list – the couple is requesting what no other American has ever done in Canada before, which is to gain refugee status.
