Now that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are preparing to walk down the aisle, Americans are looking forward to one of the biggest weddings of the century; but before the hype of one of Hollywood's favorite couples came the royal wedding of Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton.
Exactly one year ago today (April 29), excited viewers around the world gathered near their televisions to watch history in the making as Catherine Elizabeth Middleton married William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor at the exquisite Westminster Abbey.
Since the moment the royal couple said "I do," the world has been intrigued by watching their every move, including the life of Kate's younger sister, Pippa Middleton. After helping to walk her sister down the aisle, Pippa became a household name as millions envied her in that gorgeous white bridesmaid dress by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
Meanwhile, Will and Kate have taken the world by storm, stepping out on two official tours, where the excitement of meeting the couple was counteracted by the same amount of excitement for women everywhere waiting to see what new fashions the Princess would be wearing that day.
Though rumors have sparked multiple times that a royal baby is on the way, so far the only new addition to the family is a puppy! A black Cocker Spaniel named Lupo, or "wolf" in Italian, has been the center of the two's attention.
Besides the wedding and undeniable modern-day freshness William and Kate bring to the world, they have also made headlines for getting their own wax figures unveiled in London and New York by Madame Tussauds, as well as meeting the Obamas and other Hollywood A-listers.
Though we don't know what's ahead for the next year of marriage, we can only assume it will include more head-turning glamorous fashions and commendable charity efforts.
