They’re national heroes for going to London and scoring gold in the 2012 Olympic Games, and the US Women’s Gymnastics Team received a warm welcome at the Empire State Building in New York City today (August 14).

Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, and Kyla Ross posed proudly with their gold medals at the observatory as fans and press lauded adoration on the “Fierce Five.”

Earlier today, the ladies were at Rockefeller Center for an appearance with Matt Lauer on the “Today” show, during which they discussed that they’re all normal teenage girls.

Miss Douglas noted, “We like fashion and hanging out at the mall and the movies. We like to talk about boys and shoes.”

As for what advice she’d give aspiring gymnasts, Miss Weiber shared, “It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, so make sure you always work hard and stay in the gym, but make sure you’re having fun at the same time.”
