"Hairspray" Star Nikki Blonsky's New Job: Boutique Shoe Seller!

From wearing high-priced footwear to selling it, "Hairspray" star Nikki Blonsky has taken a job at a Great Neck, New York shoe store.

The 22-year-old has signed on for the summer position at the Steven Dann boutique following a slight downturn in her acting career - and despite what others may think, she's taking her current occupation in stride.

"It's a little uncomfortable for [Nikki] obviously, but the customer will ask her to sign her autograph on the receipt and she does. She's really sweet to the little kids that come in the store. She even sings and dances for the customers, busting out the tunes from Hairspray," said a source.

However, it looks like Nikki won't be slanging shoes for long - according to her rep she has a "huge project in the works," and, as he noted, "She decided to try the [shoe] gig for the fun of it. And to support a longtime friend's local business."
