Welcoming a newcomer to the top spot for the first time in the past month, "New Year's Eve" found itself perched atop the box office over the weekend of December 9-11, 2011.
The star-studded Garry Marshall directed "Valentine's Day" followup pulled in $5 million on Friday and $5.3 million on Saturday while expected to garner a lower than predicted total of $13.8 million during its opening weekend of release.
Continuing to grasp ahold of the leading position, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" still found itself perched atop the box office over the weekend of December 2-4, 2011.
The Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner starring vampire picture pulled in $5.5 million on Friday and $7.2 million on Saturday while expected to garner a total of $17 million during its third weekend of release.
Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" continued to lock up first place at the box office to begin the long weekend of November 23-27, 2011.
