Box Office: "Think Like a Man" Tops Weak Theater Weekend
Holding strong in first place standing for the second week in a row, "Think Like a Man" is perched atop the box office to begin the slow theater weekend of April 27-29, 2012.
The Steve Harvey book-based comedy starring Meagan Good and Gabrielle Union nabbed $5.5 million on Friday and $7.6 million on Saturday which puts its estimated weekend take at $17.4 million.
Nosing ahead into the runner-up slot thanks to a late surge, the newly-released animated tale "The Pirates! Band of Misfits" wound up in second with $2.7 million on Friday and $5.1 million on Saturday with approximate opening weekend earnings slated at $11.4 million.
Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated totals are the Zac Efron/Taylor Schilling helmed drama "The Lucky One" ($11.3 million), followed by a tie between the Jennifer Lawrence starring blockbuster "The Hunger Games" ($11.2 million) and Judd Apatow's disappointing new release "The Five-Year Engagement" ($11.2 million).
