Michael Shannon Talks “Superman” Gig

The upcoming “Superman: Man of Steel” flick is already generating tons of buzz, and Michael Shannon recently chatted about how he scored the role of General Zod.

The “Boardwalk Empire” actor spoke to an audience at RiverRun and gave some great insight into the casting process.

First of all, director Zack Snyder decided he had to have Shannon in the role; however the studio required he do a screen test.

From there, Michael met up with Henry Cavill (who will play Superman) to make sure they had “chemistry.” Evidently they did.
