Kicking off another week of testimony, the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray got underway this morning (October 24).
And today marks the beginning of the defense’s presentation of its case, following some seriously damning evidence brought forth by the prosecution.
She was scheduled to perform in Melbourne, Australia this week, but now Janet Jackson has called off the gigs in order to be with her family at the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray.
The “Rhythm Nation” songstress said the decision was a tough one, but she ultimately puts family before career, especially when it comes to the death of her late brother Michael Jackson.
As if things couldn’t get any worse for Dr. Conrad Murray, propofol expert Dr. Steve Schafer has virtually guaranteed that Michael Jackson's death was directly related to Murray’s actions.
As the manslaughter trial gets going again today, Dr. Schafer will continue his testimony, which so far as included statements calling Murray’s conduct “egregious” and “inexcusable.”
It’s no secret that things are looking pretty bleak for Dr. Conrad Murray's legal case, but the good news is he may avoid jail time all together.
According to a report, if Murray is convicted of felony involuntary manslaughter associated with the death of Michael Jackson, he could be sentenced to four years in prison.

But earlier today, Dr. Conrad Murray and his defense team opted to abandon that claim during the courtroom proceedings.
The jury in Dr. Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial has been given a plethora of evidence to consider, and testimony continues today.
Yesterday, Dr. Christopher Rogers, the doctor who performed Michael Jackson's autopsy, stated that he seriously doubted that Jackson caused his own death.
Surely becoming one of the most memorable and graphic days of testimony in the case thus far, prosecutors in the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray displayed a picture of Michael Jackson's lifeless body on the autopsy table during this morning's (October 11) proceedings.
As the trial of the King of Pop's personal physician is televised, the photo blurred out MJ's private area, but allowed viewers to see him just moments following his June 25, 2009 death.
Up to this point, the case against Dr. Conrad Murray has been strong, and the manslaughter trial continues today, following the Columbus Day holiday yesterday.
