Mel Gibson's Car Accident Snafu

Things just aren’t going his way these days, and the latest drama to befall Mel Gibson is a single car accident that occurred yesterday (August 15).

The “Lethal Weapon” actor lost control of his vehicle around 8:35pm in Malibu, California and ran into a hillside on Malibu Canyon Road.

Making matters worse, Mel was driving his swanky 2008 Maserati at the time, and the luxury vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

A report obtained by TMZ stated, "For unknown reasons, Mr. Gibson steered his car to the right and struck the rock hillside. He stopped his car at the scene and was contacted by officers from the West Valley CHP Area."

"Gibson told officers in the field he did not know how the car drifted out of the lane and into the hillside. Gibson just repeated several times, ‘I don't know how the car left the roadway.’”
