Maura Tierney: Set to Have Surgery
Earlier in the month we learned her show “Parenthood” was pushed back due to medical reasons, and now it’s being reported that Maura Tierney has found a tumor in her breast.
The Dr. Abby Lockhart actress on NBC's “ER” star tells Us magazine, “I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery. I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed.”
The 44-year-old’s doctors assured the actress that it is a very treatable condition and Tierney also says, "I'm very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon."
Maura’s show, “Parenthood,” is a re-make of the 1989 comedy; no rescheduled air date has been set.
