She is leaving "American Idol" in her past, and Mariah Carey couldn't be happier doing so. Serving as a judge alongside big names such as Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj, the "My All" singer revealed her true feelings about the show in an interview with Angie Martinez on Tuesday (November 12).
"Honestly, I hated it," she said. "Here's what it was. I was the first person who signed on...I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice...monetary moment, and I was just like, 'Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.'"
She’s always been great about loving her Lambs (fans), and Mariah Carey showed up on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to talk about a secret listening session she held earlier in the week.
The “Someday” songstress and Fallon invited a few super-fans to a recording studio to hear her new single “The Art of Letting Go,” and halfway through the song she appeared in the room to reveal she’d been singing the whole thing live.
She struggled since July with a dislocated shoulder, and she sported some very cute and stylish arm casts, and today (October 11) Mariah Carey posted a Facebook status detailing the road to her healing, as well as some juicy details about her singing future.
"It's a huge deal, it should have taken eight months and even my doctors can't believe it," the sexy singer wrote. "It's been a long journey, the physical therapists have been incredible and I am very grateful to all of them for helping me."
