LeAnn Rimes Seeks Damages for Leak of Conversation

LeAnn Rimes is fighting back against two women who released a phone conversation that Rimes allegedly participated in.

A lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday (August 30), alleges that two women "conspired to spitefully ensure that out-of-context excerpts of that recording would be disseminated to the public."

California law prohibits the taping of a phone call without both parties consent; regarding the lawsuit, Rimes's attorney said, "There has been this cyber-bullying that has been going on for a considerable period of time. These women have been merciless – vitriolic in their attacks … Rimes didn't like it, but she hoped things would get better."

The 30 year-old country singer had voluntarily entered a treatment facility "cope with anxiety and stress" on Wednesday (August 29), leading at least one individual close to Miss Rimes to tell People Magazine, "The events described in the lawsuit are a part of, but certainly not the only reason LeAnn has sought treatment."
