Katie Holmes' Weekend Divorce Lawyer Visit

Getting back to the legal grind, Katie Holmes' was spotted entering her lawyer’s office in New York City on Saturday afternoon (July 7).

The 33-year-old actress looked casual in a yellow dress and tan booties as her bodyguard assisted her into the building and helped rid of the swarming photographers.

Since Miss Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, there’s been multiple rumors started about the couple’s custody battle over their daughter Suri Cruise.

The "Top Gun" actor has remained quiet while he waits to file a counter divorce case and his lawyer, Bert Fields, confirmed to BBC, "We are letting 'the other side' play the media until they wear everyone out, and then we'll have something to say."

Although Katie asked for sole custody of their 6-year-old daughter when she filed for divorce in New York City on June 28, Fields would not confirm if Cruise is going to seek joint custody admitting, "Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri."

The 50-year-old's lawyer did mention that his client is not too happy about how the proceeding is shaping up adding, "It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening."

The “Batman Begins” star’s lawyer, Jonathan Wolfe released a statement last week saying, "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest. This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family".

Katie is expected to appear in front of a family court judge on July 17th for an order-to-show-cause hearing in New York City.
