Katie Holmes ‘Blindsided’ Tom Cruise With Divorce Filing

As an update to the GossipCenter story regarding Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise's divorce, it has been reported that the former "Dawson's Creek" actress is the one who did the filing.

According to TMZ, the "Top Gun" big screen icon was said to be ‘blindsided’ by the decision and ‘very sad’ because ‘he did not see this coming,’ according to an inside source.

Per the TMZ report, Katie dropped off the paperwork to a New York City courthouse yesterday (June 28) and cited the ever-popular ‘irreconcilable differences’ as her reason for seeking a separation.

Additionally, Miss Holmes is seeking primary residential custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri while Cruise's spokesperson told press, "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out.”
