Prince William & Kate's Royal Sandringham Christmas Service
Having opted to skip a planned ski trip to stay home over the holidays, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, joined fellow British Royals for an early Christmas Day church service in King's Lynn, England on Sunday (December 25).
The couple was joined by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Princess Eugenie, as the well-dressed group walked alongside one another upon exiting the Church of St. Mary Magdalene at the Sandringham Estate.
While the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh traditionally team up in leading the royals in attending the service, this year took a turn from the norm due to the fact that Prince Philip has been admitted to Papworth Hospital after having cardiac surgery to fit a stent in his coronary artery.
Not forgetting Philip on the holiday, family members including Prince William left the Sandringham grounds during the Christmas Day festivities to pay a 45-minute visit to the hospital.
Of the medical check-in, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson told People magazine, "The Duke of Edinburgh was visited by some of his grandchildren at Papworth hospital this afternoon: The Duke of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall."
The royal spokesperson added that the Duke is in "good spirits" and "will remain in hospital under observation for a short period."
