Jodie Foster: “The Beaver” Photocall in Cannes

Stepping out to promote her new film “The Beaver,” Jodie Foster was spotted at a photo call as part of the 64th Cannes Film Festival today (May 17) in Cannes, France.

The “Silence of the Lambs” actress looked lovely in a black and white printed dress as she hammed it up for fans and press.

According to a report, “The Beaver” actually received a warm reception at the festival today despite a chilly performance in US box offices.

Of her film’s controversial star Mel Gibson, Jodie told press, "He's an outstanding actor: he can do the humorous side and the dark side. Most of all he understands that characters struggle... He is somebody who wants to change, who doesn't want to be himself -- that is part of Mel."
