Jill Stuart wants to party on. With her edgy Fall collection which was inspired by “iconic women of music.” The collection was fierce, girly, and frilly.
Mixing leather and lace, the 80’s made a comeback and Stuart mentioned Françoise Hardy. Madonna, Stevie Nicks and Anita Pallenberg all appeared from velvet rocker styles as well.
Stuart played up a dark and vixen look, almost vampirism. Another played up was angelic and delicate with feminine skirts and blazers. There were ivory tailcoats that were embellished with lace flowers. Sexy leather pants strutted down the runway with fringe, knits, and blouses.
A floral embroidered chiffon dress allowed Stuart to keep her fans as well as a black beaded outfit that brought out the darker side. The little black dresses are timeless classics, such as a flapper style number. It was certainly a dominatrix kind of show.
