Jessica Chastain Talks "Lawless" on "Good Afternoon America"
On a promotional run for her newest film, Jessica Chastain made a trip to “Good Afternoon America" in New York City on Tuesday (August 21).
The porcelain-faced beauty donned a classy ensemble in a navy blue dress and nude heels and was all-smiles before heading inside.
While talking to co-host Lara Spencer, the 35-year-old discussed working on her film, "Lawless."
Dishing about her riveting character, Jessica explained, “That time period for women was so beautiful. I was drawn to the character because she’s a gun mall from Chicago, she’s very experienced with men and she goes on the run and she ends up in Franklin County, Virginia with these men who really aren’t experienced with women, but very experience with violence.” adding, “It was a fun contradiction to play.”
The John Hillcoat directed film is set in the Depression-era in Franklin County, Virginia, where a bootlegging gang is threatened by authorities who want a cut of their profits.
When discussing her co-stars, Miss Chastain said, "It was amazing! At first I was the only girl working with this great cast of men. They were all treating me like a princess and were all very gentlemanly around me."
Also starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy, the movie hits theaters on August 29.
