He’s going to be a proud papa soon, and Mike Comrie has announced that he’ll be retiring from playing professional hockey.
Hilary Duff’s hubby, who has played in upwards of 600 NHL games, told press, “My career has afforded me a series of phenomenal opportunities to play and become friends with some of the greatest people I have ever known and some of the greatest players who have ever played this game.”
However, as Duff noted, Comrie’s hip just doesn’t seem to be able to handle the constant strain of his hockey career.
Hilary tweeted, “As many of u know mike has announced his retirement. It’s a bittersweet day! He had a wonderful career! But 3 hip surgeries in 5 years is alot!”
