Hilary Duff Talks Easy Labor & Mommyhood on "Ellen"

With Mother's Day right around the corner, Hilary Duff gushed about being a new mom and passed along her helpful thoughts to an audience full of expectant parents on the Ellen DeGeneres show set to air Friday (May 11).

The 24-year-old singer and actress admitted having a “very easy” delivery to one-month old son, Luca, and revealed she fought off the first couple hours of labor by herself, “I went into labor at about 1 in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about 3 hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I’ m like ok, it’s time to go, let’s go now,” Hilary told the host.

Duff has been keeping her Twitter fans up to date as her newborn son grows, explaining, “Every single day, it seems like there’s a new face that they’re making. He started to smile about a week ago, and that’s the coolest experience. It’s all good.”

The actress also offered some advice to all the expecting mothers out there, telling, “What is to come is such an amazing journey, and a lot of work, It’s just like the best thing that’s ever happened to you.”
