Fantasia
She’s been having a rough time as of late, and after a failed suicide attempt Fantasia Barrino is said to be on the mend.
According to a report, the “American Idol” alum was found in her closet after taking a lethal amount of medication in an attempt to end her life.
She’s landed herself in the news quite a bit as of late, and now it is being reported that Fantasia Barrino was rushed to a hospital last night (August 9) and was treated for a “medication overdose.”
According to WCNC, the “American Idol” star was taken to the Carolinas Medical Center-Pinevelle in North Carolina, but luckily her condition was not life-threatening. It remains unclear if the OD was intentional or accidental.
Denying any such misdoings, Fantasia Barrino's rep has dubbed a North Carolina woman's allegations of splitting with her man due to an affair he had with the "American Idol" alum as completely untrue.
The singer's spokesperson, Brian Dickens, told press, "Fantasia is certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of [their] marriage."
We all know that Miss Carrie Underwood is a lovely lady and that many guys would love to have her, but hold onto your Valentine’s Day gifts men - as the "American Idol" singer says that she's not a fan of the lover's holiday.
“I’m anti-Valentine’s Day. I don’t believe-and this goes for anybody-your man shouldn’t love you for one day out of 365. He should love you 365 days out of the year. I want Valentine’s Day every day,” the 25-year-old told press.
Slowly easing back into work mode after grieving the loss of three family members in a tragic crime earlier this year, Jennifer Hudson has lined up her first public appearance since her mom, brother and nephew's deaths.
The 27-year-old "American Idol" alum will be taking the stage at the MusiCares person of the year gala on February 6, according to Variety reports.
It’s been a horrific couple of weeks Jennifer Hudson and her family, and yesterday she finally said goodbye to her slain family members during an intimate private service in Chicago.
The “American Idol” alum reportedly took a few moments at the caskets of her brother Jason Hudson (29) and nephew Julian King (7) before moving on to her mother’s casket (Darnell Donerson, 57) and leaning down to kiss her.
It would appear that personal turmoil equals Grammy nods this year. At least that’s the case for Kanye West and Amy Winehouse. Between his mother dying and her husband being thrown in the slammer, these two were pretty desperate for some good news.
Between the two of them, the “Jesus Walks” rapper and the “Rehab” singer have a total of fourteen nominations (8 for him, 6 for her). And they’re not the only ones with multiple chances to take home an award.
It’s that time of the year again. Time for the 2007 American Music Awards, that is. And this year there are plenty of categories embroiled in fierce competition.
According to the list of nominees, Beyonce, Justin Timerlake, Chris Daughtry, and Linkin Park will be competing in three categories each, while Akon, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Young Jeezy, T.I., and Carrie Underwood each have two chances to take home an award.
Now that she's finally announced her pregnancy, Halle Berry has gotten into mommy mode. The former Bond babe was spotted just yesterday shopping for baby clothes with her mother, Judith Ann.
Dressed in a short white dress, the three-months-pregnant Berry and her mom laughed and talked as they hit up the popular baby boutique NoMi in West Hollywood.
In a star-studded two-hour event, the human beatbox (aka 25year-old Blake Lewis) was conquered by 17year-old Jordin Sparks. With a record 74 million votes cast, this American Idol finale was the biggest to date.
The contest came down to the stronger singer, Sparks, versus the better entertainer, Lewis. While Lewis was showboating and wooing the crowd, Sparks belted out her selections with simplicity and powerful vocals. In the end it was that vocal performance that garnered the majority of those 74 million votes.
