Adding another cover to her credit, Eva Mendes is featured on the front of Lucky magazine's October 2013 issue.
While donning designer duds from Jason Wu and H&M for the Patrick Demarchelier-shot spread, the "We Own The Night" actress opened up about her family's influence on her fashion career and her new line at New York and Company.

On her work with New York and Company:
"There are days when I don't feel great, but I put on my favorite dress and throw a scarf in my hair, and it makes a difference. Hopefully my line can do that for women. Even if you're not feeling your best, let's admit it, the right outfit - it helps. My customer is not a fan of the way tabloids cover celebrity style: 'Who wore it best.' It's disastrous for women's self-esteem."
On her family's reaction to her new career:
"I never thought I would be a designer, if that's what I am. And at first I wasn't sure I could do it. [But my family] were like, 'Evie, you have to do this!'"
On her mother's way of staying in touch:
"The way my mother keeps track of me is looking me up. I say, 'Please, Mother, don't Google me!'"
On her relationship with Ryan Gosling:
"You can ask about my boyfriend. I just won't answer."
