Claire Danes: Lead Actress Emmy Nominee

It’s an exciting time for Claire Danes, as she’s pregnant with her first child - and yesterday (July 19) she also learned she’s nominated for a Best Lead Actress Emmy Award.

The “Romeo and Juliet” actress was busy on the set of her show “Homeland” when shutterbugs snapped her having a celebratory sandwich in lieu of champagne.

Danes previously told press that she and hubby Hugh Dancy are in it for the long haul, despite the Tinseltown tendency for short unions.

“My mom Carla taught me that a long marriage can work. My parents have been together since they were 18 so I am privileged to have them as role models. I like marriage. I feel very secure. It helps when you are in love with the person you are married to. I do sometimes look at him and think, ‘You are really handsome.’ He keeps me sane and happy.”
