Chelsea Handler Scores NBC Comedy Gig

She’s hugely successful with her E! talk show “Chelsea Lately,” and Chelsea Handler will be taking her comedic flavor to network television.

The off-color comedienne’s book “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” will be the basis of a new show on NBC.

Handler’s gig is being pitched as an autobiographical multi-camera comedy based on Chelsea’s life in her twenties.

Werner Entertainment will produce the show and “Dharma & Greg” conspirers Dottie Zicklin and Julie Larson will write the adaptation.
