Grey’s Anatomy Says Goodbye To Isaiah Washington

With all the drama surrounding the “gay bashing” comments made by Grey’s Anatomy’s Isaiah Washington, the ABC’s verdict is in.

Washington will not be returning for the new season, according to and ABC executive. He said that the decision was tied to Mr. Washington’s comments regarding his fellow cast member, T.R. Knight.

After the incident, Washington tried to appear remorseful. “With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again.”

Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the network. Plagued by angry emails and a declining reputation within the gay community, the pressure was on to fire Washington from the show.

The executive (who wishes to remain anonymous) who was told of the decision said the reasons for not renewing Mr. Washington’s contract would probably not be specifically spelled out, but he said that it was because of the events of the last year.

When hearing of the network’s decision, Washington was furious. "I’m mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore."
