Just three days after her shocking suicide, family and friends came together to celebrate the life of Mary Richardson Kennedy at St. Patrick’s Church in Bedford, New York this afternoon (May 19).
Many A-list stars showed up to the service to pay their respects including Caroline Kennedy, John McEnroe, Edward James Olmos, Glen Close and Chevy Chase.
Not in attendance were Mary’s siblings who supposedly skipped the service due to the presence of her estranged husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
He gave a speech recalling a final phone call from Mary the day before she died and said, ““She said, ‘You know me better than anyone,’ and I said, ‘Yes,’” he told a hushed church. “And she said, ‘I was a good girl.’ And I said, ‘Yes, you were a good girl.’”
A high school friend added, “She was an angel. It was a fitting tribute.”
