Whitney Houston Starts Work on New Album
Whitney Houston has reached a point in her life where she is looking to finally turn things around. Houston filed for divorce from her longtime husband Bobby Brown this past month, and she is finishing up a yearlong stay at a rehab facility in Southern California.
When tracing back Houston’s troubled past, two underlying factors were constantly present: the notorious Bobby Brown and narcotics. Hopefully Houston has thrown the “one-two punch combo” that she needed to remove these distractions from her life.
Step one in getting back is to venture into the recording studio with writer-producer Johnta Austin. Austin won a Grammy for co-writing Mariah Carey’s hit “We Belong Together”. Everyone is hoping that Austin can work his magic with Houston as well.
Houston was one of America’s darlings in the 90’s, and produced such hits as “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, “I'm Every Woman”, and her most famous “I Will Always Love You”. Her performance at Super Bowl XXV when she sang The Star Spangled Banner is widely considered one of the greatest performances of the national anthem in the history of this great nation.
Whether or nor Houston has the talent to make it back to the top is not in question. Staying sober and Bobby Brown free are the obstacles that remain in Houston’s path on her comeback trail.
