Spears, Federline Divorce Settlement A Done Deal
The rumors can finally be put to rest. Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have just reached a settlement in their divorce, a spokesman for Federline's attorney announced.
According to Fox news, Britney and Kevin met with their respective law teams for 5 long hours today (March 29), finally signing "a global settlement on all issues of their marriage," said Michael Sands, a spokesman for Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.
Sands declined to elaborate on terms of the settlement, saying only that it covers child custody and financial matters. Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that the payout to Federline is approximately $1 million and the two will share joint custody of their two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
While divorce proceedings do become public record, further details in this case will most likely remain unknown... until someone involved spills the beans. TMZ pointed out the fact that Britney's top-dollar lawyer, Laura Wasser, has dealt with high-profile cases before. Cunningly, Wasser gets the parties to file a "skeletal judgment," which means the specific terms will be omitted from the public documents.
