Shakira Favors Education Over Marriage

Once in awhile a girl comes along who can not only put out #1 records, but also excel in college academia. And Shakira’s university pursuits are just one more way that she’s a notch higher than her peers.

She’s spent the entire summer studying the History of Western Civilization, and the Hips Don’t Lie singer couldn’t be happier. And according to a source, she’s not envious of all the red carpet events she’s been missing.

"While everyone else has been at the beach, the MTV Awards and the Emmys, Shakira's been studying History of Western Civilization all summer at UCLA," said a friend of the singer.

And while balancing a career and an education seems to be effortless to the Underneath My Clothes singer, that’s all she’s interested in right now. According to her rep, the rumored impending marriage is “completely false.”
