Selena Gomez Lollipops Around the Palisades

Disney darling Selena Gomez enjoyed a lollipop as she headed to a photoshoot in Pacific Palisades with a few gal pals on Sunday afternoon (January 18).

The 16-year-old, who shot to fame playing Alex Russo in "The Wizards of Waverley Place," has recently spoken up of her desire to move onto new, more challenging roles.

"Yes, absolutely. I love being challenged," Selena tells of her desire to try out new characters. "I love the Disney channel, and I always want to keep that relationship because they gave me my start, but I'd love to someday make a transition and do roles that are really challenging for me. I'd like to do comedy, romance, anything."

Explaining the type of movies that she loves, Miss Gomez adds, "I love Revolutionary Road. That is the movie I want to take all the awards. I can't even get over it. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio just kill it."
