Salahis Attend Homeland Security Hearing

They made headlines back in December when they crashed a White House State Dinner, and now Tareq and Michaele Salahi are under investigation by the Homeland Security Committee.

The infamous couple was spotted walking through the Canon Building on their way to a House Homeland Security Hearing earlier today (January 20), though both looked a bit nervous.

Tareq opened the proceedings with an opening statement, saying, "My wife and I are strong supporters of men and women in uniform both here and abroad. We have great respect for the presidency, the men and women of the United States Secret Service. … They have a tradition of excellence in their missions. And nothing that transpired Nov. 24 should take away from the extraordinary services the United States Secret Service performs on a daily basis."

And when it came time to answer the House committee’s questions about circumventing the Secret Service checkpoints, both Tareq and Michaele took the Fifth Amendment which allowed them to stay silent and prevented them from self-incriminating.
