Penelope Cruz: Working in Paradise
After scouting out the best locations, Penelope Cruz and Spanish director Pedro Almodovar have gotten to work on Pedro’s new movie, Los Abrazos rotos (Broken Embraces).
According to a Hello! report, filming of the movie is "situated in Lanzarote, an island in the Atlantic Ocean 79 miles off the west coast of Africa offering year-round sunshine, dramatic volcanic landscapes and white sand beaches."
The report adds: "One of the locations the beautiful Spanish star will be working in is the popular tourist attraction of El Golfo, a volcanic caldera with an unusual green lagoon, black sand beach and wind-eroded cliffs."
Slated for a March 2009 release, Los Abrazos rotos is Pedro's most expensive film to date and has Penelope playing "a would-be actress from Spain’s provinces who is pursued by an unscrupulous financier."
