Paris Hilton: So Far, So Good
With Paris Hilton’s prison sentence beginning Sunday night after her appearance on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, it was a toss up whether or not she would be able to handle life behind bars.
But according to her attorney, Richard A. Hutton, things are going well for the Simple Life star. "She's using this time to reflect on her life, to see what she can do to make the world better and, hopefully, in my opinion, to change the attitudes that exist about her among many people."
Because of Paris’ celebrity, she is in a cell all by herself. This may seem to be a perk, but according to her lawyer it’s going to make her time drag on. "If she was an ordinary citizen she would have been placed in the general population. ... She'd be living in a dorm with 30, 40, 50 other women and the time would pass pretty quick," Hutton said. "She is really being punished because of her celebrity."
Her fellow celebrities are weighing in on her sentence. "I don't wish jail or prison on anybody whether they deserve it or not," singer and actor Tyrese Gibson said. "But I just hope that while she's in there for the 23 days she sits there and thinks about her life."
"You shouldn't drive while drunk that's the bottom line. Hire a driver. You make enough money; hire a driver," actress Amanda Bynes said.
Let’s hope that this sentence is good for Paris and her image.
