Nicole Richie and Joel Madden: Lunch Date

Stepping out for an afternoon lunch outing, Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden were spotted leaving Chateau Marmont in Hollywood on Friday (January 16).

The former "Simple Life" starlet and her Good Charlotte rocker beau walked side-by-side with drinks in-hand following their meal, during which time they joined fellow patron Natalie Portman at the popular hotel eatery.

Meanwhile, Nicole and Joel are recently returned from spending their New Year's holiday taking care of their parental duties rather than partying at a nightclub per the usual.

"They enjoyed little domestic things like going for walks and watching the sun set," a source told OK! of the couple's Maui getaway. "They didn't bring the baby with them to the beach so they could spend time together. They were laughing a lot."
