Nicole Kidman Says Hollywood Promotes Violence
Doing her part for women’s rights all over the world, Nicole Kidman testified before a US congressional committee this week to promote new legislation to deal with violence against women overseas.
And the “Moulin Rouge” actress noted that Hollywood is partially to blame for making women appear to be weak sex objects.
When Dana Rohrabacher, a Republican representative, asked Nicole if the movie industry was responsible for “playing a bad role,” she answered, “Probably.”
Kidman explained, “I can’t be responsible for all of Hollywood but I can certainly be responsible for my own career.” She added, “IN the real world, the laws go unenforced and impunity is the norm.”
