Mischa Barton's Hospital Scare

Mischa Barton suffered a reported scare on Sunday (May 27), being rushed to a hospital after having an adverse reaction to a prescription medication.

The Sun has reported that the 21-year-old actress, whose claim to fame began with hit TV show 'The OC', began to feel ill while attending a pal's Memorial Day BBQ in Los Angeles. The party was also attended by Nicole Richie - as the two accompanied one another to a local supermarket before the little get-together.

According to sources near to the situation, "Friends reportedly called emergency services after Barton complained of feeling ill at the party. She was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. "

Fortunately, it was nothing too serious, as Mischa was "released from the hospital about five hours later, after being advised to rest." A Barton rep has since said that she is now "feeling much better".
